HOW IT WORKS (Click to Display)
- PORTFOLIO: It is highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with my paper art portfolio, so you keep in mind my style, preferences and expertise. This will serve to inspire you and to better visualize the final outcome. I will not accept orders that consist of copying the style of other artists or reproducing famous characters of well-known brands, even if they are not for commercial use.
- PROCESS: It is also convenient for you to know the process I follow, in order to better understand that each work requires time to be done.
- ESTIMATED TIME: Depending on its size, complexity and amount of details, I will need to spend between a few weeks and two months to finish a commission. In addition to the production time, you have to take into account the pre-production time (read on to the end for the Steps to Follow). And then add in the shipping time, since international shipments can take from two weeks to a month. In conclusion, any order should be placed well in advance. I will inform you more specifically when I know what paper piece you want me to make, its destination and, of course, my availability at that time.
- TECHNIQUE: I use a completely handmade and handcrafted technique, without the intervention of any computer or cutting machine. In this way, unique and unrepeatable paper art works are obtained. Please note that the final result may present small variations or irregularities that speak of its value and authenticity, without being considered defects in any case.
- FRAMES / PROTECTIVE BELLS: In the case of mural portraits and paper sculptures, there is the possibility of sending you the work framed / inside a plastic bell or dome. In most cases, frames and bells are included in the price, with a few exceptions. Shipping it this way helps to better protect the artwork, the piece will be 100% custom made to fit the frame or dome / bell, and you will avoid having to find something the right size on your own. On the other hand, the frame and dome increase the weight of the package and, therefore, the shipping costs. I will offer you information and shipping prices for both alternatives so that you can choose the one that suits you best. In both cases, I will do my best to make sure that your custom commission travels safely and fits properly in its protective container.
- VIDEO OF THE PROCESS: As a personal touch, I will also send you a video of the process of creating the paper art work at no additional charge.
- PACKAGING: I will take special care in the packaging of your order to avoid any damage (I’m a real security freak LOL). Along with the paper work, you will receive instructions on the correct handling and conservation of the art item in perfect condition for decades.
- SHIPPING: National and international shipments are made by postal mail. In both cases, I always choose the most economical and, at the same time, the safest option. It will always be done through certified letters and packages with tracking available. A correct name and mailing address will be required to complete the shipment. If it is a gift to a third party, there is the possibility of sending it directly to their home address. In international shipments, the delivery time can take between two weeks and a month depending on the destination area. In any case, remember that I am not responsible for any delays that may occur once your order is in the hands of those responsible for its transport and delivery.
- SHIPPING COSTS: When you request a quote, I will inform you in which cases shipping costs will be included in the final price or will be paid separately. This will vary depending on the amount of your order, the weight and the country of destination.
- RETURNS: For obvious reasons, returns on custom orders are not accepted.
- STEPS TO FOLLOW:
- 1. REQUEST FOR QUOTE: In order to give you an exact quote, please send me an email to [email protected] and tell me, first of all, which model of portrait, miniature or paper character you want. Below you will find a list with photos, examples and descriptions. Also, in the same email, give me a detailed description of what exactly you want me to make. In the case of portraits: number of people, animals, their age, characteristics, body postures, activity, accessories, etc. In the case of miniatures of stores or rooms, it is better if you attach a couple of photos, and let me know what part you want me to reproduce and with what level of detail.
- 2. PRESENTATION OF THE QUOTE: Based on all this information, I will make some suggestions about the design, in case you find it interesting to add them. You will receive an estimate, the approximate production time, as well as information about the possible payment methods.
- 3. ORDER: If you accept and want to proceed with your purchase, I will need you to give me the express order by mail to start designing and creating your paper art commission. In the same mail, please attach some photographs in which you can clearly see the people, animals, objects or places I need to reproduce. In the case of people and animals, I would need front and side views, as well as those in which you can see the details / clothes / objects / props you want to include. And absolutely any personal information that will allow me to personalize the portrait or miniature.
- 4. DESIGN: When I receive the photographs and info, I will make a preliminary hand drawing, which I will show you together with some samples of colored paper, so that you can tell me if you want me to make any changes. Keep in mind that the color of the paper as seen through a photograph may not be exactly the same as in reality. Once the design and construction of the paper work begins, no further major changes can be made.
- 5. PAYMENT: Once we agree on the final design, I will ask you to make the payment by the method you prefer. The construction of the paper work will not start until the total amount is paid in full; in the case of works that will last a month or more, it will be accepted to split the payment in two parts, one at the beginning and one at the end. Before proceeding to pack your order for shipment, I will send you some pictures by mail of the final result.
