The Paper Artist – About Me

BIO
Hi! My name is Tònia and I am a paper artist from Barcelona (Spain, Europe). böskê is my art project and my paper ecosystem. I chose it because it is the contraction of the names of my two dogs, Bòsnia and Kenya, and because it is pronounced the same as the Spanish word for “forest”.
Since my beginnings, I have specialized in small size 3D Paper Art, AKA Paper Sculpture or Paper Miniatures. I love to create dioramas full of adorable characters, objects and details that capture magical and cheerful moments. I am known for my anthropomorphic animals, pets and happy humans in dreamlike environments. The source of inspiration is my own life and the muse, my dog Kenya. My fav paper works are “Sausages”, “Life” and the Squirrels Christmas Tree.
It all started overnight during the pandemic blackout, when I created my first diorama by trial-and-error. Since then, I have been developing a self-taught technique on my own. The whole process is 100% handcrafted and handmade from my own designs, resulting in unique and unrepeatable paper artworks.
When I was a child, I spent hours playing with Lego and making up stories for the characters to live out. I consider paper art to be my Lego as an adult and a new vehicle to tell stories, which is my goal after all. Creating unforgettable characters is my passion: give them a personality, a story, put them in a lovely situation, dress them up, surround them with cute objects, build them a cozy house and offer them a happy life.
What started as a kind of hobby-therapy gradually was gaining entity. The good reception my paper works received and the international recognition encouraged me to turn it into a professional career.
I am open to collaborate in any type of commercial or personal projects where the paper crafts has a place: set design, scenographies, decorations, installations, window dressing / display, illustration, editorial, publishing, branding, advertising, campaigns, film, tv, stop-motion animation, personal commissions, custom gifts, courses, workshops, etc.
For any inquiry, commission or collaboration, please write me at [email protected]. To know me a little more closely, visit my Instagram, Threads, or follow my blog. I also have a Behance account.
